同居人とは音楽の趣味はかなり近い方だと思っているが（いや、hate speech激しい類のヒップホップなど私の知らないコレクションで私が受けつけないものもあるのかもしれないが）、幾つかのジャンルでどうしてもどちらかの肌に合わないというものがある。その代表が後期ロマン派、特にワーグナーとプッチーニオペラだろう。そう、同居人にも受けつけない音楽があるのだ、ふっふっふ。

というわけで今日は帰りが遅いのをいいことに Birgit Nilsson によるアリアやプッチーニのアリア集を聴いていた。Nilsson はやはり低音域の発声が豊かで深く、心地よい。ワーグナーもプッチーニも私にとっては心理的に萎縮したり鬱になったりした時に心を開放してくれる、無くては生きていけないという程の作曲家達だ。ついでに久しぶりに Zeppelin の Houses of the Holy も聴いたけど、聴き方で言うともしかしたら同類かもしれない。以前のmixi日記のコメントで Zeppelin にブルースとカントリーを感じると書いた覚えがあるが、芸能的で壮大で幾分破滅的にロマン的なところでワーグナーやプッチーニに通じる部分もあるのかもしれない（こういうこと言ってる評論家居ないだろうけど。さすがにトリスタンとイゾルデを聴いて泣くことはなくなったことも確認したし。昔は多感だったのだなあとつくづく）。

Though I assume my partner and I share our interests in music in quite a broad range - well, let's forget that he might be hiding from me some secret collections I dislike, such as hip-hop music based on heavy hate speech - we do  disagree each other's musical tastes in some genres.  For instance, one typical case can be seen in late romantic music, especially Wagner and Puccini operas.  Yes, even my partner dislike them!

So, I was lucky I could enjoy aria collections of Wagner and Puccini operas the other day knowing he would be late.  I noticed I still love Birgit Nilsson, especially her rich and thick voice in the lower pitch range.  I believe both Wagner and Puccini are essential to romantic music, and I must confess I wouldn't be able to live without them.  Their music would open my heart, and risen me up from depressed feelings. 

I also listened to "Houses of the Holy" of Led Zeppelin, and it was interesting I felt it resembled to these late romantic music.  I wrote in my mixi diary before that I see the influence of blues and country music in Zeppelin, and now I see disatrous but lyrical romanticism in them, which might be the factor common to late romantic music.  （Sorry for lacking academic proof, it's just my insight ;-)）

ロマン主義とは何ぞやで同居人と議論に。
ロマン主義的価値観にドップリ浸りそれが当然と思って育った
私としては、いざ客観的に説明せよと言われると弱い。

困った時のWikipedia頼み。解説には

「（ドイツを中心とした）ヨーロッパの精神運動」
「内面性の重視、感情の尊重、想像性の開放といった特性」

等とある。
英語版には更に

「啓蒙主義の時代の価値観への反発」
「自然を合理化（？rationalization）することへの反動」

等とも。

だが音楽のロマン派は調性（和声）に基づくずらし方が主眼のようで、
音楽のロマン派と文学のロマン主義は時代が重なる以外には特別
関係なさそうである。議論のすれ違いはこの辺が発端か。

「ロマンチスト」と言う時は通常は文学のロマン主義を意味するかと。
「ロマン派」と言えば音楽のことだが。
